The co-showrunner, Liz Friedman, has stated that the disagreements that have arisen between Morgan and Park will not vanish all of a sudden even after Morgan has been discharged from the hospital. According to Friedman, who spoke to TV Insider about the upcoming sixth season, “the battle over Morgan’s ambitions—how she prioritizes her life and where Park feels he fits in it—continues to echo.” Based on what Friedman has said, it seems likely that Morgan will remain in St. Bonaventure in order to work on repairing her connection with Park. After coming to the conclusion that Park is more important than anything else or anyone else, it’s possible that she won’t be in a hurry to leave California. Fiona Gubelmann will not be abandoning her role on ‘The Good Doctor,’ that much is certain. David Shore, who is the program’s developer and also one of its executive producers, stated unequivocally that Gubelmann will not be quitting the show following the conclusion of the fifth season. He went on to say that Morgan’s decision to move to New York in the first place will have “ramifications” for her relationship with Park, just as the first episode of the sixth season shows.
