Normally, Days of Our Lives is interrupted on Thanksgiving, but this year we may be thankful for one episode. The soap will air a holiday-themed episode on Thanksgiving itself thanks to the transfer to Peacock!

Days of Our Lives won’t be interrupted by the Devil on the 11-21-22 episode, though Charlie’s ghost may still be around.

Thanksgiving week promises petty behavior, vengeance schemes, and a fiery car accident.

Plot of Days of Our Lives

Since its premiere in 1965 on the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) network, the American television soap opera Days of Our Lives has been aired nearly every weekday for most of its existence. The groundbreaking show was honored with many Daytime Emmys and established itself as a mainstay of daytime television in the United States.

When it first premiered, Days of Our Lives focused on the troubled lives of the Horton family, who were residents of the made-up Midwestern suburb of Salem. However, throughout the show’s lengthy run, the sagas of other families, such as the Bradys and the DiMeras, were brought into play. The topics of love, family, marriage, adultery, divorce, sex, and death frequently come up in Days of Our Lives, just as in other soap operas. In many of the show’s running narrative lines, people have either been entangled in drawn-out tragic love triangles or have been keeping secrets that could put them or their loved ones in danger.

There have been a lot of cast member changes throughout the show’s history, and many of the actors have left and then occasionally come back. Frances Reid, who played the matriarch, Alice Horton, was a consistent cast member on the show from the time it first aired in 1993 until it ended in 2007. She was one of the most durable performers. MacDonald Carey, who featured in many Hollywood films during the 1940s and 1950s, played the role of Alice’s husband, Dr. Tom Horton, and was the primary draw for many viewers of the soap opera for many years.

The show was at first lauded for its relatively realistic representation of American families and for its willingness to broach controversial topics; yet, as the series progressed, it began to feature more action-oriented narratives in addition to elements of the supernatural. It has a fanbase that spans the globe and has held the number one spot during the midday slot and the lowest place in the ratings at various points in its history. Due to the time that the show has been on the air, “Like sands through an hourglass, so are the days of our life” will forever have a place in the annals of television history.

What Happened With Marlena?

Since the first episode of Days of Our Lives aired in 1976, Marlena Evans has been one of the series’ primary characters, and she has been the focus of Stefano DiMera’s passion for many years. Much like many soap opera villains, Stefano’s machinations would not be out of place among those of comic book supervillains and stories. This plan damaged Marlena’s spirit and opened the door for the Devil to make his way inside. He tried to use hypnotism to coerce Marlena into loving him, but it was unsuccessful.

Her possession first manifested as disturbing dreams, but they went full force in 1994. When Marlena was possessed, she had several distinguishing characteristics, including instances in which she levitated off the bed and a pair of yellow contacts that indicated when the Devil was in control of her body. During the time that Marlena was possessed, she caused great destruction in Salem by chaining people to alters and disrupting weddings. Although Satan’s primary focus was on Marlena, he also attempted to seduce many other individuals with varying degrees of success.

Her deliverance was facilitated by Stefano DiMera’s various schemes directed at Marlena and the Brady family. John Black, who was connected with Marlena at one point, became involved with her because they believed that he was her husband, Roman Brady, but he had amnesia. John Black was one of Marlena’s love interests. After the honest Roman had returned, John and Marlena found out the truth: John had been working for Stefano all along.

John found out around the time that Marlena was in his hands that he had been a priest before Stefano interfered in his life. Marlena was finally set free after the exorcism he performed, which was made possible because he had previously served as a priest.

Thanksgiving is not a typical airing day for an episode of Days of Our Lives, but we should be thankful that one was scheduled this year. Because of the switch to the Peacock network, the soap opera will air a Thanksgiving-themed episode on the actual holiday!

There will be no interruptions caused by the Devil during the week of November 21 through the 22nd on Days of Our Lives, yet it’s possible that we have yet to see the last of Charlie’s spirit.

The days leading up to Thanksgiving are sure to be filled with petty behavior, schemes for revenge, and a fiery vehicle accident.

Spoilers for Days of Our Lives

Since the show moved to Peacock, Days of Our Lives has been building up to a significant automobile crash via tease after tease, even going so far as to splice together clips in such a way as to give the impression that Jennifer was to blame for the disaster.

That turned out not to be correct, as we now know. Instead, the conflict between Ava and EJ will come to an explosive conclusion this week.

Instead of ending this stupid scheme to exact revenge by kidnapping Susan, Ava caves into ghost Charlie’s desires and threatens to kill the creepiest character on Days of Our Lives. EJ will give chase to Ava and Susan, which will result in a collision that could be fatal.

Because Ava will be mentioned in spoilers for the next week, we know that she does. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Susan will likewise pull off a miracle recovery.

There has been excessive murder and damage in Salem, and we only have approximately a month left before the late John Aniston’s last appearance as Victor Kiriakis is shown on television.

Although viewers have a highly divided reaction to Susan’s outlandish behavior, taking off EJ’s mother would be excessive, mainly because Abigail and Jake were only recently put to gruesome deaths.

Susan’s Death Explained on “Days of Our Lives”

In addition, Susan is a character who may be considered a legacy. Susan is the only one of Eileen Davidson’s characters who continue to appear regularly (though Davidson did resume the role of Thomas Banks during Beyond Salem 2!). However, the other actress has been replaced. Eileen Davidson became famous for playing several different characters throughout her career.

It does not appear that killing off Susan would be worth the turmoil involved. Even without that, EJ is capable of being angry and vindictive. In addition, it would be a more satisfying act of vengeance if Susan survived, but Ava secreted her away somewhere.

And as of late, no one in Salem has been shown to remain permanently dead unless it is the actor portraying them, which means that this startling death would not have the impact it intended to have.

Days of Our Lives: Alex and Justin Come to the Rescue of Bonnie

We have Bonnie’s relatives to thank for discovering her in the shed. I was afraid they would stretch this out because Alex and Justin’s revelation happened off-screen on Friday.

If Susan wasn’t already in the car or if she was hiding somewhere else, this exciting car chase wouldn’t be necessary, and the story would have had a different conclusion.

The boys will likely have trouble convincing Bonnie to spill the beans about what happened. At least we won’t have to listen to Susan and Bonnie continuing their psychic chat any longer!
