Chris Flores, a 37-year-old sports trainer who has been charged with sexually assaulting two kids, was taken into custody by Santa Ana Police on Friday.

Chris Flores’ reputation in the sports world stemmed mostly from his work as a young coach, where he was noted for his efficient teaching techniques.
Flores met a number of NFL stars after enrolling in the STARS Prep Academy, including DJ Uiagalelei, Adoree Jackson, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Bryce Young. The Santiago Middle School in Orange County served as the program’s headquarters. More than 100 young athletes signed up.
Chris Flores fiercely disputed the accusations, according to Edward Welbourn, the lawyer who is defending him, stressing his reputation as a well-known character in the neighborhood.
Added Welbourn:
“Chris has worked with youngsters in the community for many years as a coach, actually a teacher, and a mentor, and he is really shocked by all of these charges that have surfaced.”

“He vehemently denies having any improper connections or interactions with any athletes, pupils, or students, present or past. He only sought to assist young people and advance their lives and professions.”
Authorities, however, offer a different version of events, contending that Flores abused his position as a trainer to prey on young females. On August 5, audio recordings of a party revealed that a guy thought to be the youth trainer was attempting to date a 14-year-old girl, sparking the start of the investigation into Flores’ alleged behavior.
According to CBS, a male voice can be heard pleading with the teen to FaceTime in the recording. The voice begs the girl not to reject him after she declines.
The voice of a man said:
“We discussed this, guy. You need to quit using the nooos.”
In the year 2021, the girl alleged that Flores had assaulted her more than once.
The Santa Ana Police Department stated in a formal news release that there is cause to suspect Flores may have been a potential serial predator given his role as a juvenile trainer.
The declaration read:
Detectives from the Santa Ana Police Department think Flores may have preyed on more people while working as a coach who had access to a lot of kids and teenagers.
Jason David slammed Flores’ actions in a formal statement.
He stated:
“I’m feeling nauseous. I’m repulsed. I’m furious.”

According to ABC, Flores has previously been detained after being accused of kidnapping and assaulting a woman in 2009. He was cleared of the accusations.
