Cardi B and Nicki Minaj clash on Twitter: Everything you need to know

The world is aware of the ongoing beef between the two queens of rap, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, who are once again trending on Twitter.

The two artists got into a Twitter argument shortly after the release of Nicki’s most recent hit, Super Freaky Girl, after Cardi B cited a Nicki fan who said to “go stream.” The I Like It singer was then attacked by Nicki Minaj’s supporters.

Nicki Minaj’s fans, known as Barbz, also started streaming her new song, helping it to break Spotify and Apple Music streaming records.

Details of the Twitter argument between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are investigated

The two singers’ conflict is not brand-new. But this time, the pair used Twitter to criticise one another. It was the song that received the most Spotify and Apple Music streams, followed by Cardi’s “Go Stream” and the Barbz actually streaming it.

Nicki sent a mysterious tweet in response.

Cardi B later stated that she was a part of people’s marketing strategy despite having removed the tweet she had sent encouraging Barbz to stream the song.

Just goes to show what we’ve been saying for years, this week.

The conflict between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B over time

Since Cardi’s career start in 2017, the two musicians have had a tense relationship. Since almost five years ago, the two have been pursuing one another, attacking each other verbally, physically, and online.

The beef began in 2017 after comparisons between the two artists. Later, in May 2017, Nicki insulted Cardi’s husband Offset. Even worse, Minaj continued to support Cardi-hating comments on social media.

Cardi then retaliated against Minaj on social media by discussing “idols who become rivals.” She also reminded the audience via Twitter to refrain from making comparisons to any of the other musicians.

I am CardiB and only CardiB; I am in my own lane; and I am rapping because I LOVE TOO (1689 408). Please don’t compare or place me in opposition to any other artists.

When a video of Minaj dancing to the Cardi B song Bodak Yellow surfaced online, things started to get a little better.

In interviews, they continued to make sneaky comments to one another, but when pressed, they both denied having a conflict or rivalry.

Cardi B clarified the situation and said in an interview with Billboard:

“I mean, I truly don’t want issues with anyone. I have no desire to rule like a queen. This is not where I want to be. I don’t want to be that person. I simply want to produce music and earn money. I genuinely don’t have the time to observe what other women are doing. I’m just being myself, you understand? Nobody had a grievance against me. I have no issues with them.

Nicki Minaj congratulated Cardi B on Twitter in September 2017 after her single Bodak Yellow reached the top spot.

A fellow New Yorker deserves congratulations on achieving a record-breaking feat. The only thing that matters, Bardi, is this! Have fun, @iamcardib 119156 32540.

Cardi responded to Nicki’s post in a kind way, writing:

However, in April 2018, both artists asserted that their conflict was more influenced by the internet than it was by them. However, the two got into a fight that same year. Cardi contacted Nicki for “spreading false info,” which is when it happened.

At the Harper Bazaar party during New York Fashion Week, Cardi reportedly also pulled off one of her red heels and flung it at Nicki. The two got into a nasty fight as a result of this.

The two continued their feud by exchanging cryptic tweets and social media messages as retaliation. Even though internet users were confident that the conflict was still active and that the musicians weren’t at peace with one another, this time the two didn’t specifically identify one another.
