Aaron Joseph Trout: Who is he? Michigan man is detained for killing a 2-year-old kid by hitting her
Trout, 31, was charged in Harrisville’s 81st District Court and had his bond denied during his initial hearing.

ALCONA COUNTY, MICHIGAN: On Friday, July 22, 31-year-old Aaron Joseph Trout was detained on suspicion of fatally striking a 2-year-old child before abandoning the victim at a hospital. He is accused of committing one count of felony murder “in the commission of, or in an attempt to commit, first-degree child abuse.”

The crime was described in a statement made public by the Michigan State Police (MSP). After the girl’s body was discovered, the Alpena Police Department requested the dispatch of troopers. Aaron was detained on July 25, 2022, and the girl resided in Alcona County. In the first hearing after his arraignment in Harrisville’s 81st District Court, bond was not granted. His next court appearance is set for August 3.

The authorities believe Aaron dropped them off and fled the scene because another woman was left at the nearby hospital alone with the child. Tom Weichel, the county’s prosecutor, said: “The youngster may have died from wounds inflicted a few days earlier, according to the information provided to law enforcement, but an autopsy will be required to determine the precise cause of death. Police suspect that on Friday, Trout left a woman and a child at the hospital.” It is still unclear how Aaron was connected to the victims, but it is known that the girl was not his daughter.

Due to the situation, the Alpena hospital only permitted people who were on standby and staff members to enter the facility on Friday for almost three hours. There were also allegations of a shooter entering the hospital, but these were quickly refuted by the authorities.

It is also unknown why the hospital was placed on lockdown and why its authorities were ordered to take additional safety precautions. Aaron was captured by a number of law enforcement organizations, including the US Forest Service, Michigan DNR conservation officers, MSP Alpena Post, MSP West Branch Post, Alcona Sheriff Office, Oscoda Township Police Department, and members of the MSP Emergency Support Team.

The accused repeatedly requested Judge Laura A. Frawley to release him at his hearing on Monday morning since he was set to start a new job on July 27. Aaron is currently incarcerated and unable to access his family, social media, or the internet. He also needs special permission from the court in order to make phone calls.

According to the law in Michigan, a person guilty of first-degree murder “must be punished by imprisonment for life without parole.” Aaron has previously been accused of using drugs, acting violently, resisting and assaulting police, and missing court dates.
